Board of Directors
The Board of Directors at PACE Society is a governance board that jointly supervises all activities of PACE Society, including supporting and supervising the executive leadership team at PACE. PACE Society’s Board of Directors follows the responsibilities and duties of a governance board as determined by the BC Societies Act and PACE Society’s By-Laws. As a member-based organization, we prioritize lived and/or living experience in sex work on all levels of the organizations, including at the Board level. PACE Society members elect and vote on Board members on a yearly basis during PACE Society’s Annual General Meeting (November of every year).
PACE Society’s Board is made up of a group of individuals with diverse expertise and experiences related to PACE Society’s membership. The Board is made up of folks with lived and/or living experience in sex work, lawyers, doctors, activists, writers, social workers, and more! The Board governs the organization by establishing policies and procedures and setting out strategic plans and direction, as well as approving PACE Society’s annual operating budget. PACE Society’s board is accessible to all PACE members on a request-basis, and the staff team will work tirelessly to ensure members can voice concerns directly to the Board.
